A panigiri promises a spirited celebration that unites the entire village in joyous festivities. The preparations kick off early in the morning, with the erection of a stage either in the village square or a nearby field, not far from the church. Tables and chairs are meticulously arranged in front of the stage, leaving ample space in between for the lively rhythms of dancing to unfold. The tantalizing aroma of spit-roasted lambs permeates the air throughout the day, luring passersby to partake in the upcoming feast.

To secure a spot for dining, it is advisable not to arrive too late. Once the panigiri is in full swing, finding an available table becomes a challenging if not impossible task. Patrons are advised to act promptly, keeping a keen eye out for vacated tables, as they are quickly claimed by others in the same situation. Given that many attendees are there with their families and friends, intending to relish a good time, tables often remain occupied for extended periods.

Panigiria in Corfu are typically promoted through makeshift signs and sandwich boards strategically positioned at crucial junctions and main roads in the vicinity. Primarily composed in Greek, these signs may not be immediately apparent to non-Greek speakers. It’s worth noting that these advertisements persist beyond the conclusion of the event, often lingering for several days. Therefore, it is advisable not to presume the imminent occurrence of a panigiri without first seeking confirmation, as the signs may remain in place even after the festivities have concluded.
