Planning Your Corfu To Albania Day Trip:
Getting There: Ferries are the only way to reach Albania from Corfu. Two companies, Finikas Lines and Ionian Seaways, offer daily services to the port of Saranda in Albania.
Ferry Options: Choose Your Speed
There are two main ferry options to consider for your day trip to Albania from Corfu: fast ferry and regular ferry. The best choice for you depends on whether you prioritise speed or bringing a car.
- Fast Ferry: Also known as a hydrofoil or “flying dolphin,” this option gets you to Albania in a brisk 30 minutes. These ferries operate year-round, weather permitting, and are passenger-only.
- Regular Ferry: Taking roughly 1 hour and 10 minutes, the regular ferry offers a more leisurely pace. This is the only option if you want to take your car to Albania. Important Note: Only your own car is allowed; rental cars are not allowed to leave the island or be taken abroad.
Ferries for your Albanian adventure depart from Corfu Town Port and arrive at Saranda Port. Remember, Saranda Port is where you’ll catch your return ferry back to Corfu. Tickets start at around €20 for a single journey, with prices increasing during peak hours.
To ensure a smooth departure process, we recommend arriving at Corfu Town port at least one hour before your scheduled ferry time. This will allow ample time to complete any necessary border formalities.
During peak season, ferries can get crowded. Consider purchasing your tickets in advance, especially if you’re travelling with a car.
